Welcome to
Kalinagar Mahavidyalaya

Kalinagar Mahavidyalaya ,  occupying an area of 14.54 acres , the sole torch bearer of higher education of this rural remote partly inaccessible island , was the outcome of the initiative of the local entrepreneurs and philanthrophists .

The primary occupation of the local tribals , caste Hindus and minorities being riziculture and pisciculture in the river 'Betni' .

The imprints of the devastating  'Aila' almost a decade ago are still visible in the life of the poverty-stricken islanders as well as the institution itself .

Though both the college and its rural locale has succeeded to a great extent to bring about qualitative as well as  quantitative improvements with the help of both central and state financial assistance along with the same from the University Grants Commission as well as assistance in diverse ways from the affiliating University .
